Today marks a historic moment for both the Malaysia Barista Championship and Malaysia’s Liberica coffee at the World Barista Championship in Milan, Italy.
Our four-time Malaysian Barista Champion has once again made us proud by standing out among competitors from 52 countries and successfully advancing to the final round — the best result Malaysia has ever achieved in the history of the competition.
What makes this even more meaningful is that the coffee used on stage was none other than Malaysia’s very own Liberica coffee.
For MY LIBERICA, this moment also represents a new milestone.
In Jason’s competition this year, we experimented with a new processing method to create a cup that is clean, refined, and elegant in flavor — and we did it!
This success marks not just an achievement, but also a new beginning, opening up endless possibilities for future flavor exploration.
Today, I also had the chance to reunite with two mentors who have greatly influenced the evolution of Liberica coffee — Sasa Sestic and Hugh Kelly.
It was our collaboration five years ago that sparked new ideas in coffee processing, leading to the growth and progress we celebrate today.
Coincidentally, both Jason Loo and Hugh Kelly reached the finals of the World Barista Championship in Milan using Liberica coffee — a beautiful connection across time and passion.
May Malaysia’s Liberica coffee continue to shine brightly on the world stage in the years to come!
今天，在意大利米兰举行的世界咖啡师大赛，对马来西亚咖啡师大赛以及赖比瑞卡（Liberica）咖啡而言，具有历史性的意义。 来自马来西亚的四届全国咖啡师冠军，这次不负众望，在来自52个国家的参赛者中脱颖而出，成功闯入决赛——这是马来西亚咖啡师在世界舞台上有史以来最亮眼的成绩。 更具意义的是，这次参赛所使用的，正是马来西亚本土种植的赖比瑞卡咖啡。
对 MY LIBERICA 而言，这同样是一个全新的里程碑。 在这次 Jason 的比赛中，我们尝试了全新的咖啡果处理方式，目标是创造出干净且风味细腻的赖比瑞卡咖啡——我们做到了！ 这不仅是一场比赛的成功，更象征着新的开始，预示未来我们在风味开发上还有无限可能。
今天，我也再次见到了两位对赖比瑞卡咖啡发展具有深远影响的恩师——Sasa Sestic 与 Hugh Kelly。
正是五年前与他们的合作，让我们在咖啡处理上打开了新的思路，也奠定了我们今日的成长与突破。
